YES EVERYONE, AMERICA HAS COME AWAY WITH A WIN THAT I SAID COULD HAPPEN.
This is a huge victory, and without Tiger Woods. As a big Tiger fan, I was disappointed to not see him play, but some people say that his absence was good to the U.S. You never saw Tiger Woods high-five his teammates in his previous Ryder Cups. You never saw him talk much or cheer on his teammates. He is a quiet guy, and says that he does not like somebody except his caddy looking over the putt he has to take. I think that U.S. worked more as a team this year, and achieved a good victory.
I am going to tell you about the singles match that I thought was absolutely terrific, not both ways, more one way! I will give you the match-up. It was Anthony Kim versus Sergio Garcia, and the rookie absolutely destroyed the undefeated singles player. By the 13th hole, Sergio was 5 down, and then just gave up. Anthony Kim came out and got a few birdies, to start the match! Sergio replied to a couple of these terrific holes, but could not keep up with the flaming-hot rookie. By the end, Sergio felt deflated, and just out-right deteriorated. I am guessing by the 13th that their was no hope, and the match was pretty much over.
Remember, people questioned Azinger about this call, but it turns out it was a good one.
