Hey everyone! I am sooo excited about the Ryder Cup’s Match ups. There is about 10 hours left to the first tee off, and I just wanted to put the Match ups for you. Here are the 4 U.S. pairs.
1. Phil Mickelson-Anthony Kim: I think this is a good pair. Azinger, the captain, said that Anthony Kim had the “most left handed swing as a righty”. Mickelson also asked to play with Kim, and got his wish. Phil Mickelson is really good at dogleg rights, but the others, he really struggles on. It would be nice to see him have a good game in the alternate shot. This first group for the U.S. will really set the tone for this tournament.
2. Kenny Perry- Jim Furyk: Both these players are very experienced. Both over 35 years old, they stand out in experience, and ability. Azinger has put them last to anchor the last round and hopefully pull in the win, these players are built to handle pressure, and should do fine.
3. Justin Leonard- Hunter Mahan: These two guys are really young, and should match up really well. They play second after Phil Mickelson. The greens will be very soft, and it will make approach a lot easier. Spin will definitely be put out of the question. That is what water really does to a green. These two guys will have a big shadow to follow after Mickelson and Kim.
4. Stewart Cink- Chad Campbell: These two guys will play 3rd at about 8:35 A.M. There should me many birdie opportunities on the first few holes, but will become much, much harder as the day goes on.
WEATHER ON FRIDAY!
There will be sunny skies, and a lot of humidity, I am guessing because of Kentucky’s position in the South.
