Truthfully, I think that the only few people who have a chance at winning the first couple of tournaments are Vijay Singh and Stuart Appleby. Seriously, they go home, and its summer, all over again! Vijay gets to play all year round, and so does Appleby. I am sure they have much to work on regardless of the tournaments they won, and they get the best conditions because they are enjoying the heat and the warm sun.

Where as people like Phil Mickelson and Hunter Mahan are going to have to sit at home, and watch the rain fall. I mean, if you were really determined, you could go live in Australia or Figi, but noone wants to leave their family to go practice. I mean, golf is your career, but you got to have some time to spend with your family, because they should be the most important thing. Please leave a comment on who you think will win the first few tournaments, and why. That would be great, I love to hear your answers.

YES EVERYONE, AMERICA HAS COME AWAY WITH A WIN THAT I SAID COULD HAPPEN.

This is a huge victory, and without Tiger Woods. As a big Tiger fan, I was disappointed to not see him play, but some people say that his absence was good to the U.S. You never saw Tiger Woods high-five his teammates in his previous Ryder Cups. You never saw him talk much or cheer on his teammates. He is a quiet guy, and says that he does not like somebody except his caddy looking over the putt he has to take. I think that U.S. worked more as a team this year, and achieved a good victory.

I am going to tell you about the singles match that I thought was absolutely terrific, not both ways, more one way! I will give you the match-up. It was Anthony Kim versus Sergio Garcia, and the rookie absolutely destroyed the undefeated singles player. By the 13th hole, Sergio was 5 down, and then just gave up. Anthony Kim came out and got a few birdies, to start the match! Sergio replied to a couple of these terrific holes, but could not keep up with the flaming-hot rookie. By the end, Sergio felt deflated, and just out-right deteriorated. I am guessing by the 13th that their was no hope, and the match was pretty much over.

Remember, people questioned Azinger about this call, but it turns out it was a good one.

Hey everyone, I put up the Question of the Week (#7) about 5 or 6 days ago, and I am back with this post to tell you my answer. The Question of the Week was very general, but it does take a lot of explanation. Here was the Question of the Week:

What is the biggest fundamental skill of golf?

My Answer: My answer is approach. Approach is the biggest part of golf because it can really set you up with an easier putt, so putting is not the absolute biggest thing. Think about it, if you’re approach sets you up with a 3 foot putt, isn’t that better than having the pressure of trying to knock down a 15-foot putt? That is my answer, feel free to give a comment if you agree, or disagree.

My next post will be a re-cap of the Ryder Cup. This post should be up after the Final Round of singles on Monday.

Hey everyone! I am sooo excited about the Ryder Cup’s Match ups. There is about 10 hours left to the first tee off, and I just wanted to put the Match ups for you. Here are the 4 U.S. pairs.

1. Phil Mickelson-Anthony Kim: I think this is a good pair. Azinger, the captain, said that Anthony Kim had the “most left handed swing as a righty”. Mickelson also asked to play with Kim, and got his wish. Phil Mickelson is really good at dogleg rights, but the others, he really struggles on. It would be nice to see him have a good game in the alternate shot. This first group for the U.S. will really set the tone for this tournament.

2. Kenny Perry- Jim Furyk: Both these players are very experienced. Both over 35 years old, they stand out in experience, and ability. Azinger has put them last to anchor the last round and hopefully pull in the win, these players are built to handle pressure, and should do fine.

3. Justin Leonard- Hunter Mahan: These two guys are really young, and should match up really well. They play second after Phil Mickelson. The greens will be very soft, and it will make approach a lot easier. Spin will definitely be put out of the question. That is what water really does to a green. These two guys will have a big shadow to follow after Mickelson and Kim.

4. Stewart Cink- Chad Campbell: These two guys will play 3rd at about 8:35 A.M. There should me many birdie opportunities on the first few holes, but will become much, much harder as the day goes on.

WEATHER ON FRIDAY!

There will be sunny skies, and a lot of humidity, I am guessing because of Kentucky’s position in the South.

Hey everyone! I had a great time when I was playing at Crystal Springs Course. I was with the same friend who got his new clubs, and we both did really great. My friend, or uncle, scored a +9 when I scored as a +17.

Course: The course itself was not the hardest course, I have faced harder. The field was not the best maintained, because some places were more dry and hard than others. The tee boxes were really good and did not have very many divots. The view on the greens and tee boxes were absolutely beautiful. There was also deer, everywhere, literally. Each hole you would see them in the rough munching on some grass.

My stats and playing thoughts: I really thought my irons were great on the back nine. My tee shots were sometimes good, but mostly just average 170 yard shots. I was able to hit my fairway woods off the ground really well. My putting today was excellent. My short-range approach was outstanding, as I might say so myself.

Highlight of the day: I got my very first birdie! I had hit two shots on a par four, and I was in the rough write next to the green. I put some back-spin on the ball, and it rolled and landed perfectly in the hole. It was thrilling and absolutely amazing, I was in total shock that I actually birdied a real hole.

Overall re-cap: I thought that the course was beatiful, and I will remember for it years because I had my first birdie, I will never forget that. That is all, my next post will be up in 3 or 4 days which will be the Answer to the Question of the Week (#7). Please comment on how I did or your opinion on the course overview, things like that.

Hello all you golf fanatics. I thought that my last Question of the Week was extremely lame. And I just got a spark that made me write another one. This one is going to get you all thinking. It is a really general question, but if you really think about it, it is hard to answer.

The Question of the Week (#6) is… (Drumroll please)…:

What is the biggest fundamental skill of golf? (By this I mean putting, driving, approach etc.)

I really want to hear your answer on this one. I want to see everyone’s idea on this type of question. This answer can go anyway. My answer will be up in 5 or 6 days. I hope someone answers this. I am looking forward to answers to this question more than anyone so far.

Yes people, Camilo has won a big round of golf, this is a huge achievement for him, and will be a big boost to his career.

With the scores dropping as low as they can go, Camillo Villegas and Jim Furyk are right now battling for the #1 spot in the BMW Championship. Camillo and Jim currently stand with a -13 on their 5th hole of the final round today.

My Thoughts on both players: Camillo has been playing some serious golf this year, and I really hope he comes out today with a trophy in hand. He played some excellent golf at the British Open, and is really looking forward to a big trophy he can call his own. This young man has a bright future ahead of him, and a trophy right now would really boost his career going into the off-season.

Jim Furyk is a great golfer. He seems to be consistent wherever he plays, and I don’t think another trophy to put on his shelf would bother him much. There isn’t much to say about him except he is a lot more experienced to me than Camillo Villegas.

Wrap-up: To end todays Quick Update, I advise you to turn on your TV and watch this final round. If the tournament is not available, go online and find the scores hole-by-hole. I will have a post either today or tomorrow telling you the winner and why I thought they won and did a good or bad job.

Hello everyone, the week has gone by so fast and I will put up my answer to this week’s Question of the Week. With not much time in hand at the moment, I only have time to show you my driver and my friend’s, whose driver and woods just arrived a day or so ago. Anyway, back to the Answer.

I have a Cleveland Driver, I am not sure which type, but I do know my friend’s. He has a brand new Callaway X-Hyper Driver, 5 wood, and a hybrid. Here is a picture of this awesome club.

A great looking club, off and on the course.

That is all for today, I will have another post up very soon.
